Neighbors rescue pets left behind after woman moves out of Greensburg home

GREENSBURG, Pa. — Neighbors in Westmoreland County are being hailed as heroes after helping save several animals’ lives.

People who live along Beacon Valley Road in Greensburg called the Humane Society after a woman moved out and left her eight cats behind.

Humane officers said they found the cats inside the house suffering from dehydration. They said they also found a dead cat, pig and iguana.

Officers said Amanda Rubus will be cited. She will also have to pay the cats’ medical bills.
