NEW BRIGHTON, Pa. - Firefighters battled flames at two Beaver County houses Thursday morning.
Officials said the fire originated at a home on Penn Avenue in New Brighton about 8 a.m. Once that house was fully engulfed, the flames spread to a home next door.
Officials said both fires were under control by 9 a.m. No one was inside either house at the time of the fire.
Four cats died in the blaze, and a firefighter was treated at the scene for heat-related problems.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
