North Side man jailed in connection with apparent drug deal shooting in Crafton Heights

PITTSBURGH — Police said a North Side man was arrested Tuesday in connection with a shooting in Crafton Heights earlier this week.

Investigators said 55-year-old Vieng Samay was taken into custody on charges he shot a 22-year-old in the head. Police said the victim was sitting the back seat of a car on Woodlow Street early Monday morning when the shooting happened.

Officers said there were two other people in the car at the time. The victim was taken to Allegheny General Hospital. There is no word on his name and condition.

Police said the shooting happened after an apparent drug deal.
