Wilkinsburg man accused of assaulting man, 60, outside Stowe Twp. bar

STOWE TOWNSHIP, Pa. — Police have arrested a Wilkinsburg man accused of assaulting a 60-year-old man outside a Stowe Township bar earlier this month.

Investigators said they originally weren’t sure Marty Dzubinski fell or was assaulted after he left Bob’s Tavern on Broadway Avenue on Nov. 1.

According to police, the bar’s security camera shows Dzubinski walk out of the bar. The video also shows Eric Dean follow right behind Dzubinski.

Investigators said Dean robbed and then assaulted Dzubinski and then went back inside the bar and bragged about it.

“He was leaving the bar and some guys jumped him and severely beat him over and over. They just left him there,” Missie Smith, Dzubinski’s friend, said.

Officials said Dzubinski is in grave condition at Allegheny General Hospital. His family is preparing for the worst.

Bob’s Tavern owner, Bob Wilson, said he thinks his bar is being unfairly targeted. He said the victim is a regular customer and wasn’t assaulted by anyone inside the bar.

“I have a legitimate business here,” Wilson said. “The man was not even touched.”

Dean denies the allegations.

“I’m innocent,” he told Channel 11’s Renee Kaminski Friday.

He’s facing aggravated assault charges, but police said if Dzubinski dies, he’ll be charged with homicide.
