Parents on high alert after attempted luring

CARRICK, Pa. — Authorities in Carrick are looking for a man accused of trying to lure a teenage girl Thursday night.

According to police, a 15-year-old girl was walking near the intersection of Brownsville Road and Agnew Street with her 10-year-old brother when a white pickup truck approached them.

The girl told investigators that the man said, "Are you alright? Do you need a ride?" and then drove away.

Authorities said the girl told them that Thursday wasn’t the first time she’s seen the truck. According to the girl, she saw the truck driving slowly on Tuesday afternoon and about two weeks ago.

Carrick residents said the news of an attempted luring in their neighborhood is upsetting.

“There are a lot of children in this neighborhood, and it’s scary because this used to be a real safe neighborhood,” Carrick resident Alice Ogorodny said. “Always let your children know to watch out for strangers.”

Police haven’t released any other details about the attempted luring. Anyone with information is asked to contact police.
