Perry Traditional teacher facing more charges after 2nd student accuses him of sex assault

PITTSBURGH - Channel 11 News has learned that a second student has come forward, accusing a Perry Traditional Academy teacher of sexual assault.

The alleged victim told police that Michael White asked her to a hotel party that would "include stripping," but the girl said she refused the invitation.

Investigators said a few days later White convinced the girl to leave school without permission during school hours and drove her to his home on Hamilton Avenue. Police said they had sex, smoked marijuana and drank alcohol several times in the fall of 2012.

The girl told authorities that she got so drunk she had to be taken to a hospital and treated for intoxication, police said.

White is charged with two counts of involuntary deviate sexual intercourse, one count indecent assault, selling or furnishing liquor to minors, sexual assault, corruption of minors, unlawful contact with a minor and institutional sexual assault of a minor.

White is facing additional charges of indecent assault and unlawful contact with a minor after being accused of fondling a 15-year-old student last fall. According to police, the girl told investigators that White touched her breasts and grabbed her buttocks on several occasions.

“Right now we have the assertions of a 15-year-old girl, and without ever reaching the burden proof, those allegations along have destroyed Michael White’s life,” White’s attorney Chuck Gallo said.

He appeared in court last month on charges in the first case, but the hearing was postponed because the alleged victim had a medical emergency.
