Worker, 60, dies in industrial accident in Greensburg

GREENSBURG, Pa. — The coroner has released the name of a 60-year-old man crushed to death in an accident at a Westmoreland County industrial park Monday morning.

Authorities said John Licina, of Wilmerding, was crushed by 5,000-pound steel coils.

The Occupational Safety and Health Administration and Pennsylvania State Police are also investigating the accident, which took place at an unspecified plant at the Hempfield Industrial Park.

According to police, Licina was one of about 15 employees at the plant, where he had worked about 30 years. His job was to put the steel coils onto a perforation machine.
