New Pittsburgh Public Schools calendar released due to cancelations

PITTSBURGH — Due to several days of inclement weather that required Pittsburgh Public Schools to cancel school, as well as the number of instructional days required by the Pennsylvania Department of Education, the school board has approved adjustments to the 2013-14 calendar year.

Below is the updated calendar that will be used at all high schools and 6-12 schools in the district:

•    Friday, April 11 - Full school day for all seniors and students in grades PreK-11.
•    Friday, May 30 - Final exams (full day)
•    Monday, June 2- Final exams (full day)
•    Tuesday, June 3 - Final exams (full day)
•    Wednesday, June 4 - Final exams makeup (1/2 day)  Students not required to make up finals will not need to attend school on this day.
•    Thursday, June 5  - Book return and cap and gown pick up (1/2 day)
•    Friday, June 6 - Commencement practice (1/2 day)
