Police: 2-year-old found by train tracks alone in Beaver County

MONACA, Pa. — Police said neighbors found a 2-year-old boy wandering the train tracks in Monaca, Beaver County alone.

"I was shocked," said a neighbor.

The boy didn't know his name or where he lived, police said.

After a three-hour search, police said they found the boy's mother, Julia McKelvy.

The criminal complaint said, "McKelvy was just waking from her sleep and did not know that her boy was missing."

Police said she told them that the boy's father, Micah Hodge, didn't wake her up when he left for work so she could lock the basement door.

Police charged the parents with child endangerment.

Neighbor Jamie Cervelli said her son is the same age as the boy and they play together.

"It shook me to the core, knowing he went to the train tracks," she said.

The criminal complaint said several neighbors told police they've seen the boy wandering around a few times before but never reported it.

Police said CYS is in on the case.
