ELLWOOD CITY, Pa. - Police in Lawrence County are looking for the person who stole American flags from several houses over the weekend.
Authorities said the flags were taken from homes in Ellwood City, and nothing else was taken.
Investigators believe the rash of thefts is happening late at night or early in the morning.
“I think it’s just kind of un-American because that flag is being misused. Come on, I’m a veteran; I like to fly my flag and show my colors,” said Larry Wojton.
Police told Channel 11 News they have a suspect in mind, but no arrests have been made.
“I don’t fly it just for the sake of flying it. I fly it to honor the people who fought for me to have the ability to fly it,” said Will Eller.
Anyone with information on the incidents is asked to contact police.
