Police: Armed robbers tie-up group of residents during Cranberry Township invasion

CRANBERRY TOWNSHIP, Pa. — Cranberry Township police said they're investigating a violent home invasion that happened Thursday at an area apartment complex.

According to investigators, the incident happened around 8 p.m. at an apartment in the Laurelwood Apartment complex.

Police said several men entered the apartment armed with at least one long gun and a pistol. Officers said the men demanded money from the five people inside and bound them.

According to a statement released Friday morning, Cranberry Township police said the robbers were surprised by two other residents who showed up while they robbery was in progress.

Police said the two other men were ordered into the apartment by the robbers, but they ran away and called 911.

Afterward, the robbers fled the area. Police said the robbers are described as one black man and two while men. No other description information was available.

Officers said it is unclear if the victims were the intended target. Police said several items were taken from the residence, but police did not go into detail as to what those items were.

No injuries were reported.
