HOMEWOOD, Pa. - A police chase followed a shooting in Homewood Saturday afternoon, leaving several people injured.
Police said someone was shot on Chaucer Street and then dropped off on Apple Street. Police gave chase after the driver took off with speeds reaching up to 75 mph before the driver crashed into a van in Wilkinsburg.
Three people inside the van were injured in the crash, according to authorities.
Duane Stewart said he heard the situation unfold outside his house.
“It was just a lot of vehicle noise and then you heard a loud crash,” said Stewart.
The passengers of the van were taken to Mercy Hospital.
The shooting victim was taken to UPMC Presbyterian in stable condition, according to a 911 supervisor.
No information was released on the victims’ conditions.
