CHARLEROI, Pa. - A 69-year-old Charleroi man is accused of trying to lure a 14-year-old girl into his car early Saturday morning outside her house in Washington County.
According to the criminal complaint, David Bertovich left a bar about 1:30 a.m. and then drove in front of a Washington Avenue house and started talking to the girl who was on the front porch.
Authorities said Bertovich said to the girl, “I think you should come over here and talk to me.”
The girl’s family called police and the responding officers said Bertovich almost fell over several times while being questioned.
Bertovich is facing criminal attempt to lure a child into a motor vehicle, loitering and prowling at night and public drunkenness charges. He has a preliminary hearing scheduled for Aug. 9.
Bertovich remains in the Washington County Jail wait bail set at $25,000.
