Police: Mom, daughter shot in Hill District

PITTSBURGH — Police are searching for three shooters who shot a mother and daughter in the Hill District Friday.

The shooting happened just before 4 p.m. on Cherokee Street.

Police said Tina Crawford was killed in the shooting.  Her mother was taken to UPMC Presbyterian Hospital; she was shot twice in her hip.

"She was a good girl.  She worked hard," said Crawford's friend, Tracy Scott.

Police said several shots were fired at the women who were in their garage.  Police found more than 20 shell casings in the driveway.

"I don't see why anybody would want to come and do that to them," said Scott.

Channel 11's Amy Marcinkiewicz reported the house and hood of a car was hit with bullets.

"Right now, we're looking for three individuals, two who left the scene in a car and one who left on foot," said public safety spokesperson Sonya Toler.
