NEW KENSINGTON, Pa. - Authorities are investigating after a man told police he was shot outside a New Kensington hotel Tuesday morning.
According to Westmoreland County 911 dispatchers, the shooting happened in the Clarion Hotel parking lot around 6:15 a.m.
Investigators said someone drove the victim, or he drove himself, to Allegheny Valley Hospital. He was then taken to Allegheny General Hospital, according to New Kensington police Chief Tom Klawinski.
“He was thought to be sleeping inside the car. At this point we don't know more,” Klawinski said.
Detectives said police are working to identify the victim and a possible motive.
The vehicle was towed from the scene and tested for possible evidence.
