Police: Latrobe woman went tanning after severely injuring child

LATROBE, Pa. — Police said a Latrobe mother is facing charges after she shook her daughter, hit the infant's head on a bassinet and then left the home to go tanning.

Investigators said Breana Ridga, 21, is facing aggravated assault charges after her daughter suffered bleeding on the brain and a skull fracture.

Police said they were called to Ridga's Latrobe home last month after Rigda her therapist said she confessed during a counseling session.

Officers said Ridga told her therapist, "I did it. I can't keep the secret anymore. I want my daughter back."

Police said Ridga's daughter is only a few months old and was crying when she shook her.

In addition to aggravated assault, Ridga also faces endangering the welfare of a child and simple assault charges.
