ALIQUIPPA, Pa. - Police in Aliquippa are looking for a man accused of shooting and critically injuring an innocent victim.
Authorities said Michael Nashea Kimbrough mistakenly shot Bobby Smith on McLean Street in Aliquippa. According to police, Kimbrough meant to shoot a different man.
"He was robbed and people told him about Smith. They had the wrong name and gave (him) the wrong guy. Not the guy who is in the hospital fighting for his life," Assistant Police Chief Don Couch said.
Officials said Smith lost his leg and had another surgery performed Tuesday.
Channel 11’s Amy Marcinkiewicz reported Tuesday that Kimbrough is on state parole and should not have had a gun or been in Aliquippa.
Investigators said Kimbrough is on the run and should be considered armed and dangerous. Anyone with information on his whereabouts is asked to contact police.
