Police: Man attempts to abduct child from his Lawrence Co. yard

PERRY TOWNSHIP, Pa. — An attempted abduction of a 6-year-old boy from his Lawrence County yard took place Saturday night.

Police said the boy was playing on his swing set on Line Street in Perry Township when a man in his 30s started talking to him.

“He came in all in a panic and said someone came and talked to him,” said Christina Noysser, the boy’s mother.

The boy became “fearful” and took off running when the man grabbed the back of his shirt, according to authorities.

Noysser said, “He said he sat down on the slide and said ‘Hi’ to him. My son got scared and started running and he ran after him and grabbed the back of his shirt and pinched him a bit.”

Noysser told Channel 11’s Jodine Costanzo that the man got onto the family’s property through an opening that has since been fenced in.

Police said they boy did manage to escape, and they are now looking for a 30- to 40-year-old man with blonde hair, a blonde beard, a skeleton tattoo and three unknown letters on his forearm. Neighbors said they have seen a homeless man in the area who matches the description.

“I am terrified, but also so thankful nothing else happened. It could have been bad. He did the right thing,” said Noysser. “He was so scared for a while, he keeps asking me, ‘Is this man going to come back?’ He’s afraid to go outside without me.”
