Police: Man leads officers on chase through Oakland in stolen car

PITTSBURGH — Police are looking for a man who they said led officers on a chase through Oakland in a stolen car.

Authorities said officers spotted a car driving the wrong way on Fifth Avenue in the bus lane. The officer ran the car’s license plate and found out the car was reported stolen.

According to police, officers began chasing the car onto Robinson Street and into the Hill District.

Investigators said the man eventually stopped behind the Pitt baseball stadium and ran away on foot.

Police said several officers, as well as K-9 officers tried to track the man, but they were unsuccessful. Authorities haven’t released a description of the suspect.

No injuries were reported during the chase.
