Police: Moon Twp. man left false alarm jumper note on Sewickley Bridge

MOON TOWNSHIP, Pa. — Police have charged a man with leaving a note on a Pittsburgh-area bridge that prompted a fruitless three-hour search in the Ohio River below.

Online court records don't list an attorney for 34-year-old Robert Byron Swogger, of Moon Township.
The Beaver County Times reports township police charged Swogger with leaving the note on the Sewickley Bridge, shortly after someone saw him standing near the center of the bridge about 11:30 a.m. Thursday.
Police haven't released the contents of the note, but it prompted the U.S. Coast Guard and other emergency crews to search the river beneath the bridge.
Police say they found Swogger about three hours later at his residence and arrested him. He's charged with creating a false alarm and other crimes.
