Police: Robber pepper sprays customer at New Castle convenience store



NEW CASTLE, Pa. - Police said a robber pepper sprayed a customer at a convenience store in New Castle.

The odd robbery happened last week at the Country Fair Food Mart.

According to the criminal complaint, the robber stood in line, letting people cut in front of him, before he told the cashier he had pepper spray and would use unless she gave him cash.

Police said a customer asked what was going on and then the robber and customer starting fighting.  The customer was pepper sprayed, police said.

Channel 11 talked to the customer who sought medical attention.  He said he is doing fine.
