DUQUESNE, Pa. - Authorities are looking for the shooter who killed two men Monday night in Duquesne.
Police told Channel 11’s Brittney McGraw that the shooting happened on Crawford Avenue about 6 p.m. Monday.
Witnesses told investigators that the victims were sitting outside a home when they were shot.
The medical examiner identified the victims as 18-year-old Tyrone Coleman and 29-year-old Lawrence Short. According to The Associated Press, Short is known to be a member of the hip-hop group Hardcore Entertainment.
Police could not immediately say if both men were intended as targets.
“There is potential that this is related to a previous shooting and, or murder,” Allegheny County police Lt. Andrew Schurman said. “This might be some type of retaliation, but that’s not clear at this point.”
Neighbors told McGraw that they were upset the shooting took place so close to where children were playing.
“I just heard a couple of guys pulled up in a car and started shooting in broad daylight in front of children. It’s a sad situation. You come out here and shoot in front of children. It’s sad just to shoot at all,” Jeff Walker said.
David Watson, a life-long Duquesne resident, said it’s easy to see that the neighborhood is on a decline.
“This is all through the town. Look at how many shootings was on this block here,” Watson said. “They’re killing in the middle of the day now. They don’t even care.”
Police have not released any information about possible suspects.
