Suspect arrested in fatal Fineview stabbing

PITTSBURGH — Police have arrested a suspect in the fatal stabbing of a 22-year-old man in Fineview Sunday morning.

Michael Monroe, 43, was taken into custody following the issuance of a "be on the lookout" alert.

Officials said Dereck Frye, of Fineview, was fatally stabbed in the chest about 5:45 a.m. during an altercation at the Allegheny Dwellings on Belleau Drive.

Monroe was charged with criminal homicide, simple assault and making terroristic threats.
