Police: Woman, 50, attacks roommate after she refused to get her pot

McKEES ROCKS, Pa. — Authorities in McKees Rocks are looking for a 50-year-old woman accused of assaulting her roommate early Monday morning.

McKees Rocks Police Chief Robert Cifrulak said Mary Barnes brought an 8-year-old boy to the Patterson Street home she shares with 44-year-old Tomika Williams.

According to Cifrulak, Barnes asked Williams to get her marijuana just after midnight, and became angry when Williams refused.

Barnes threatened Williams with a kitchen knife and the two then tussled, Cifrulak said.

“There's evidence of bite wounds and scratches, that sort of thing,” Cifrulak said. “There were no knife wounds.”

Williams told police that despite her protests, Barnes grabbed the boy out of bed and fled the scene in a car.

Police found the vehicle, but they're searching for Barnes. Investigators do not know the identities of the boy's parents, Cifrulak said.

“We're dying to know whose kid this is, but there's nothing to suggest this is any type of abduction,” Cifrulak said.

Cifrulak said police will charge Barnes with aggravated assault, simple assault and endangering the welfare of a child.
