PITTSBURGH - Rain, which will be heavy at times, is expected to be in the Channel 11 viewing area for much of the day and into Thursday night, according to Severe Weather Team 11 meteorologist Scott Harbaugh.
“It won’t rain every moment of the day, but it will certainly be enough to be annoying,” Harbaugh said.
Harbaugh said he expected most areas to pick up an inch or better over the next 24 hours. A few spots could top 1 ½ or 2 inches through the day Friday.
The high temperature is expected to be around 73 degrees Thursday and the low temperature overnight is expected to be around 59 degrees, Harbaugh said.
Scattered showers and a spotty storm are expected throughout the day Friday, according to Harbaugh. The high temperature is expected to be around 76 degrees.
Harbaugh said Tropical Storm Andrea could help dry out the weekend forecast.
“The minimal tropical storm is forecast to move quickly up the East Coast and be well off the coast by noon Saturday,” Harbaugh said. “This is significant because we usually get sinking air behind in the wake of a tropical system.”
