School bus driver removed from job after students accuse him of instigating fight

PITTSBURGH — A school bus driver was taken off the job after students accused him of instigating a fight.

Channel 11 News reported that a Monarch School bus driver was playing a rap song while driving students from Northside Propel School.

The students were later heard by a teacher singing the racy lyrics and one of those students said he or she heard the song on the bus.

A parent said the bus driver then ordered her fourth grade son and four of his friends to beat up the student who told the principal.

“My son felt like if he didn’t do it, he was going to be jumped,” the parent said. “I think that was wrong to tell any child to humiliate other students like that.”

Pittsburgh Public Schools officials said the incident remains under investigation and the bus driver has been taken off his route for now.
