PENN TOWNSHIP, Pa. - Getting around in Penn Township has become so difficult because of construction that many Channel 11 viewers have reached out to us for help.
According to many drivers, the area near Routes 130 and 993 has been a mess for months now, and it appears there are multiple construction projects going on at once.
Drivers said the projects have so many streets closed that they’re forced to guess where to go.
“The tough thing is you think you know the detours you’re going to take, but then most of the time a road is closed with no warning,” said Andrea Frescura.
The problem really effects those who live on or use the closed roads.
“Everybody’s confused,” said Melinda Young. “It’s hard to get in and out of the house if we’re running back and forth. I rethink my trips now.”
Pennsylvania Department of Transportation officials said they’re not directly responsible for most of these projects. PennDOT is asking drivers to be patient.
