Several-person fight sends 14-year-old to hospital with stab wound

TURTLE CREEK, Pa. — A 14-year-old boy is recovering after being stabbed during a fight involving several people early Friday morning in Turtle Creek.

According to police, a fight broke out on Oak Avenue just after 1 a.m., and several young men were involved.

Investigators said the 14-year-old suffered a stab wound to the abdomen. He was taken to an area hospital and is in stable condition.

"I'm still crying about it," said the victim's grandmother.

Allegheny County Police Lt. Andrew Schurman said Turtle Creek police officers were able to detain a few people in the area at the time of the fight.

Marc Ely, 18, of East McKeesport was arrested and charged with one count of aggravated assault. He is in the Allegheny County Jail awaiting arraignment.

There is no word if any other arrests will be made in connection with the fight.
