Shoppers rush to store to stock up ahead of winter storm

SHALER, Pa. — With the approaching winter storm system, shoppers were found stocking up on Saturday at grocery stores in Shaler.

Dodi Corfield, manager of Shaler’s Shop n’ Save, said people were loading up on milk, bread and water.

“We're hearing 7 to 8 inches, but it doesn't matter. Anything over 5 (inches), they're running to the store. We're out of salt. We got out of water. We got out of milk. It's crazy. It's just crazy,” said Corfield.

More workers were brought in to help with the steady increase in foot traffic at the Shop n’ Save on Saturday, said Corfield.
