PITTSBURGH - Widespread showers and thunderstorms moved through the region Sunday morning.
Severe Weather Team 11 meteorologist Kevin Benson said wet weather will continue throughout the day and into the evening, but coverage will decrease.
Overnight, strong thunderstorms hit many areas in the WPXI-TV viewing area.
On Washington Boulevard, flood control gates lowered just before 7 a.m. Sunday, a Pennsylvania Department of Transportation spokesman said. Debris washed onto the roadway, a portion of which was closed until 9 a.m.
