Stolen car involved in police pursuit in Pittsburgh

PITTSBURGH — Three people were arrested following a police pursuit involving a stolen vehicle early Saturday morning in Pittsburgh.

Public Information Officer Sonya Toler said the pursuit began about 1:30 a.m. when a stolen car was seen traveling the wrong way in the Allegheny Commons.

Speeds during the pursuit, which continued to the intersection of Stranmore Street and California Avenue, reached as high as 100 miles per hour, said Toler.

Two people were captured by a Zone 1 K-9 officer and his partner, said Toler. A third person was captured by responding officers.

Toler said a brick of heroin was found in the car.
