PITTSBURGH - Police arrested a man accused of hitting several parked cars early Thursday morning on Mt. Washington.
Authorities said the suspected drunken driver hit at least five cars along Maple Terrace on both sides of the road.
Meesh Alassaf told Channel 11’s Dave Bondy that he saw the driver hit more than one car.
“They hit that car and then they kept going back and forth and kept hitting it until they ran and the police followed them,” Alassaf said.
Police said they arrested the driver a few blocks away. His name has not been released.
Michael Lewis was one of the victims who woke up Thursday to find his car had been damaged.
According to Lewis, some of the damaged cars were totaled, and had to be towed away. He said his was still driveable.
“If I would have come out and saw it was totaled, it would have been a totally different situation. I guess we got lucky,” Lewis said.
