SWAT team called in to assist police serving arrest warrant

BROOKLINE, Pa. — Several law enforcement agencies, including the SWAT team, surrounded a Brookline home Friday afternoon while authorities attempted to serve an arrest warrant.

The situation began on Fordham Street just after 4 p.m. when officers said they noticed dangerous items inside the home. They called the SWAT team and a bomb squad as a precaution.

Channel 11’s Joe Holden reported that authorities cleared the house of all suspicious materials and the situation ended.

The man they were trying to arrest wasn’t home at the time, but police said officers located him nearby and took him into custody. The man’s name hasn’t been released.
