Teens find human remains in Beaver County

HOPEWELL TOWNSHIP, Pa. — Two teenagers made a disturbing discovery in Hopewell, Beaver County Wednesday afternoon.

Channel 11’s Dave Bondy reported that the boys were riding their dirt bikes in a wooded area, when they came across the bones.

At first, the teens said they thought the bones were animal remains, however when they got closer they realized they could belong to a human and called 911.

“At first we saw a couple bones and we thought it was just an animal bone. We walked down a little bit farther and we saw the shorts and boxers, and then we turned to leave and we saw the jaw with the teeth in it and that’s when we realized this wasn’t a joke,” Tyler Gehringer said.

Neighbors in the nearby Clearview Estates said a man went missing from the area over two years ago. The coroner is working to identify the remains, which could take up to five days.
