PITTSBURGH - Scattered power outages are affecting Western Pennsylvania as temperatures plunge to what may be record levels.
West Penn Power reported 835 customers without power in Westmoreland County, nearly 500 in Washington Township. Another 111 customers are without power in Washington County and 118 are without power in Butler County.
About 1,100 Duquesne Light customers are without power, said spokesman Joseph Vallarian, blaming high winds overnight. The company expects power to be fully restored by 2 p.m.
