Tree crashes on truck, traps 2 women inside

PINE TOWNSHIP, Pa. — Two women were hospitalized Tuesday afternoon after a tree fell onto their car while driving in Mercer County.

Authorities said the two women, whose names have not been released, were driving on Centertown Road in Pine Township when the tree crashed onto their pickup truck.

According to emergency crews, both women were trapped inside the truck when they arrived at the scene.

A 70-year-old woman was unconscious when crews arrived, and a 24-year-old woman suffered leg injuries, officials said.

According to police, crews had to cut the roof off of the truck to free the women from the mangled vehicle.

Both women were flown to a nearby hospital. Their conditions have not been released.
