Ukrainian-Americans in Pittsburgh watch news of Malaysian plane shot down with heavy hearts

CARNEGIE, Pa. — Ukrainian-Americans in Pittsburgh watched the news of the Malaysian plane shot down with heavy hearts.

Bohdan Konecky, 74, migrated to America from Ukraine and was upset by the news.

"It's inevitable this would have happened," he said.

Konecky is one of 100 parishioners at Holy Trinity Ukrainian Catholic Church in Carnegie.

The church will hold a special remembrance for the victims Sunday.
