Vehicle crashes into embankment in Hempfield Twp., killing driver

HEMPFIELD TOWNSHIP, Pa. — A man was killed when his vehicle crashed into an embankment in Hempfield Township early Sunday morning.

Brandon Turner, 22, of Pitcairn, died when his Dodge Avenger crashed into the embankment at the intersection of Route 136 and Millersdale Road about 12:30 a.m.

Police said Turner went through a stop sign and the intersection before crashing into the embankment.

Officials said speed is believed to have been a factor.
