Verizon outage affecting thousands in Pittsburgh area resolved

PITTSBURGH — A landline phone outage that affected thousands of Verizon customers in the Pittsburgh area has been resolved.

Verizon reported that the outage affected approximately 5,000 customers in the 412 area code with 819, 881, 882, 884, 885 and 886 exchanges.

"The issue that was affecting Verizon landline customers has been corrected. All customers should be restored to full service again," Verizon said in a news release.
