Victim of hit-and-run rushed to hospital in critical condition

PITTSBURGH — Police are looking for the driver of a van who hit a man while walking Sunday night in Pittsburgh’s Larimer neighborhood and drove away.

Authorities said the man was hit about 8 p.m. Sunday at the intersection of Lincoln Avenue and Meadow Street.

The victim, whose name has not been released, was rushed to an area hospital and is in critical condition.

Investigators said the man was walking through a crosswalk when he was hit by a dark-colored mini-van or SUV.

“It looks like he was hit about 20 feet from the crosswalk to the inbound side of Lincoln Avenue,” Pittsburgh Police Sgt. Mike Pilyih said.

Anyone with information on the hit-and-run is asked to contact police.
