W. Va. kidnap suspect remains in Allegheny County Jail

ALLEGHENY COUNTY, Pa. — A West Virginia man arrested near Pittsburgh on charges he kidnapped a 2-year-old girl remains in jail unable to post $1 million bond while he awaits a preliminary hearing next week.

Online court records don't list an attorney for 23-year-old Timothy Adam White, of Morgantown, W. Va., who faces a hearing Feb. 20 in Pittsburgh.

He's charged with stealing a car with the toddler inside from a gas station in Reedsville, W. Va. just before noon Friday. White had reportedly been staying with the girl's parents in an apartment above the gas station.

State police found the girl unharmed about four hours later at a home in Richeyville, Pa. about 40 miles south of Pittsburgh, and later caught up to White in Baldwin Borough, a Pittsburgh suburb.

Police haven't said why they think White took the girl.
