Waffle House declares war on Belgian waffles for team USA

NEW YORK — The American restaurant chain Waffle House has declared war on Belgian waffles ahead of Tuesday’s USA Men’s Soccer game against Belgium.

Tuesday’s World Cup game is a do-or-die match so the team can advance to the quarterfinals.

"We've never served Belgian waffles at Waffle House, and we just want to support team USA,'' Waffle House spokesperson Meghan Irwin told TODAY.com. "It's just supposed to be really fun, and we want to just stand behind Team USA."
