In wake of Conn. school shooting, bulletproof clothing for children coming to U.S.

PITTSBURGH — Less than a month after 20 children were fatally shot at Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newtown, Conn., bulletproof clothes for children are being shipped to the United States.

The bulletproof vests are attached to bulletproof backpacks, which have been tested with machine guns and handguns to guarantee they can stand up to a barrage of gunfire.

The clothing maker said he never thought about making bulletproof clothes for kids until the shooting in Connecticut.
