Washington humane society caring for dog found neglected

CLAYSVILLE, Pa. — The Washington Area Humane Society is caring for a neglected dog found wandering in Claysville.

A woman spotted the emaciated 19-pound male border collie/Lab mix and notified the Humane Society. They want answers.

“It's disheartening when you pet him because he's just skin and bones. That's all you feel is bones,” said Humane Society General Manager Kelly Backo.

Channel 11’s Brandon Hudson reported that the dog should weigh around 50 pounds.

“We did take over 50 ticks off of him yesterday. We are continuing to take ticks off of him today,” said Backo.

Anyone with information on the dog or his owners is asked to contact the Washington Area Humane Society.
