Water conservation notice issued in parts of Allegheny, Washington counties

PITTSBURGH — A power failure at the Beck’s Run water pumping station has forced Pennsylvania American Water to issue a conservation notice.

This notice affects Pennsylvania American Water customers in Allegheny and Washington Counties.

Customers in the following higher elevation areas might experience no water, low pressure or cloudy water until the repairs are completed and full capacity is restored to the system:

·        Greentree Borough

·        City of Pittsburgh

·        Mt. Lebanon

·        Baldwin

·        Baldwin Borough

·        Castle Shannon

·        Dormont

Customers are strongly encouraged to reduce non-essential water use both indoors and outdoors, while the repairs are taking place.

Customers will be notified when the voluntary conservation notice is lifted, and updates will be provided through the Pennsylvania American Water website.

Crews from Duquesne Light are working with Pennsylvania American Water to make the necessary repairs on the power generation infrastructure at the pumping station.
