Water main break affects more than a dozen Hampton Twp. homes

HAMPTON TOWNSHIP, Pa. — A water main break affected more than a dozen Hampton Township homes Tuesday morning.

Crews from the Hampton Shaler Water Authority responded to the break on Harts Run Road early Tuesday morning.

The break, which took a few hours to fix, damaged the road, as well as residents’ front yards.

“No, (I never expected this). Not this much water everywhere,” Joe Jones said.

Jones, whose front yard was soaked by the break, said he wasn’t sure what was going on when he heard loud noises in the middle of the night.

“I looked out and saw the lights, came outside and there was water everywhere,” Jones said. “The last couple of hours all I’ve heard is ba-boom, ba-boom. I just thought garbage was a day late or something.”

Crews said water main breaks are common this time of year.
