CRAFTON, Pa. - Authorities in Crafton said the frigid temperatures caused a water main break Tuesday morning that closed an elementary school.
Crafton Elementary School was scheduled to operate on a two-hour delay Tuesday because of the bitterly cold temperatures, but a water main break changed that plan.
The six-inch break just off of Crafton Boulevard left the elementary school with low water pressure, so the school was closed for the day.
“I’m glad I didn’t have to take my kids outside. They don’t like the cold very much,” parent Bob Gamble said.
Pennsylvania American Water crews are working to repair the break.
