Girl, 17, killed in Mercer Co. crash ID'd

COOLSPRINGS TOWNSHIP, Pa. — Authorities have identified the 17-year-old girl who was killed in a crash in Mercer County that may have been caused by severe weather.

The accident happened just before 6 p.m. Wednesday on Route 62 in Coolsprings Township.

State police said 18-year old William Cupic lost control of his car on the wet roadway and hit an oncoming SUV.

Investigators said Cupic’s car then spun out of control and a second SUV crashed into the passenger side of the car, killing 17-year-old Samantha Coast.

Police said Coast wasn’t wearing a seat belt.
