Woman accused of boarding school bus, threatening girl

SHALER, Pa. — A woman is accused of boarding a bus carrying grade school children in Shaler last week.

Nubia Habay, 48, was issued a summons in the mail for allegedly screaming at the bus driver to turn down his radio and singling out a girl, 11.

Channel 11 asked attorney Martin Lazzaro to explain the charge.

"The complaint alleges that with no legitimate purpose, this adult apparently boarded a kid’s school bus and was screaming at and threatening a child,” said legal analyst Lazzaro.

The victim’s family told Channel 11 that the student was terrorized.

Investigators are trying to determine if the bus in question had surveillance video.

Habay is the wife of former state representative Jeff Habay.  He went to jail in 2006 on charges that he used his legislative staff to do campaign work.  He also spent time under house arrest.
