Woman accused of drinking while on crossing-guard job ordered to undergo evaluation

SHARPSBURG, Pa. — A judge ordered a woman accused of being drunk while working as a school crossing to undergo a drug and alcohol evaluation.

Police said they received a tip that Patricia Gross was glassy-eyed and slurring her words while at her Sharpsburg post last month.

Officers said they found Gross drinking vodka on a neighbor's steps, and when they tried to arrest her, she swore at them.

Officials said if Gross undergoes an evaluation, her charges will likely be reduced.
